The pregnant female #BlackSoldierFly will lay between 400 and 900 eggs. Eggs of the Black Soldier Fly are not laid directly on the food source the way housefly eggs are laid. The female Black Soldier Fly will seek a location in close proximity to a suitable food source or near a colony of active Black Soldier Fly larvae. These eggs hatch into juvenile larvae in about 4 days
